Pictures of The Underhill

The new Underhill picture (above) in our North Atlantic camouflage was sent to us by Warren Szczypiorski whose father was aboard the USS Gillette DE 681 a sister ship to the Underhill.  We were both part of Escort Division 56. It was taken on 12 Sept 1944 which was the day we left with a convoy for Plymouth England. We are assuming it was taken from the Gillette because it was sent to Warren by Joe Liazzo a crewmember on the Gillette.  We hope our old shipmates and visitors enjoy seeing this old photo. Our thanks to both Warren and Joe.

If you have any personal photos of the USS Underhill please send them to us.
